When did you first start playing and why?
A: When I was 4 years old, because my family played as well and because I really like it.

A: Teun De Noijer, because he makes the difficult things, easy. He is fast and smart.
It must be pretty hard being an international player, traveling in different time zones and not knowing whether it’s “day or night so to speak,” tell us what a typical playing year would be for you?
A: That’s true. My holidays are in January in Argentina and then in February I go to Holland to play the competition there until May, between May and August we train in Argentina with the National team and international tournaments used to be in that period and in August I come back to Holland again until December.
There will be many people wondering how fit you need to be to play at the top level, please tell us a bit about your fitness regime; and please tell us a bit about your pre-match preparation and post match recovery. (Prior to Tournaments such as this, would you change your preparation and fitness regime?).
A: When it’s not an important tournament further, I train three or four days in a week in the field and 2 times in the fitness centre, and before a competition everyday in the field maybe 2 time in the day. About pre-match, I drink liquids and eat hydrates, and post recovery run a little bit, stretch and drink liquids/minerals/recover.
What changes, if any, would you make to hockey to further improve the game?
A: To allow the goal out of the circle, maybe inside the 23 meters line.
What would be the highlight/lowlight of your International Career to date?
A: WC Rotterdam U 21 2005, Olympic Qualifier 2008 and World Cup 2006
Do you get nervous before games?
A: No. Sometimes before the first match of a tournament.
What advice would you give to the “next generation” of players coming through the age-groups who aspire to be international players?
A: To enjoy every moment and keep on training!
How has the game changed over the past five years?
A: Positively. It is faster and new good players are coming.
What are your goals over the next few years?
A: Reach Play offs in Dutch Competition, be part and create a strong team with Argentina and improve our last results.
What do you like most about hockey and what frustrates you the most?
A: I like the game and the atmosphere and I would like to be more professional in every country.
What are your other hockey interests? And interests outside of Hockey?
A: I don’t have other hockey interest, just play. And outside hockey I like design, soccer and golf.
You are stuck on an island for five years. Who are the two people you would most like to be with?
A: Antonella and the driver of a boat! (haha)
